Pregnant mother of five seeking divorce accuses her husband of s3x starvation

Lauratu Abdullahi, a 30-year-old pregnant woman is asking the court to put an end to her marriage with her husband, Yahya Tanko as the mother of five accuses her husband of not performing his bedroom duties.

She told a Sharia Court at Magajin Gari in Kaduna State that Tanko has not just been denying her sex, but was also fond of assaulting her. She also said he was not providing for her needs.

According to reports, Lauratu claimed she has not had any sexual intercourse with her husband for the past months. She told the court: “I want the court to dissolve our marriage because my husband does not love and care for me anymore. He beats me when he pleases.”

Tanko denied the allegations, saying that he still loved Lauratu, while also pointing out that the woman was carrying a four-month pregnancy. “I want to inform the court that my wife is four months pregnant; so her claim of being sexually starved is incorrect,” said Tanko.

The Judge, Malam Musa Sa’ad, asked Lauratu if she was pregnant and the self-confessed sex-starved wife confirmed that she was. She, however, noted that the romance that resulted to the pregnancy lasted for only one month.  The case has been adjourned until April 3 for the two parties to present their guardians and witnesses.
